Explosion in centre of Milan leaves several vehicles on fire

Several reports suggest that the blast possibly came from a van in the city.

Daily La Repubblica reported the vehicle was carrying oxygen cylinders when it exploded, triggering explosions in several parked cars in the city.

Plumes of thick black smoke rising above the wreckage.

At least five cars are engulfed in flames.

Firefighters are arriving at the scene to tackle the flames in the Porta Romana area of the city – which has been cordoned off by police. Law enforcement agencies are at the scene to investigate the cause of the explosion.
