Pishin: October 24 – The Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, formally inaugurated the solar energy project for agricultural tube wells in Pishin District. The event was attended by the Provincial Minister for Agriculture, Haji Ali Madad Jatak, members of the Provincial Assembly, officials from the Agricultural Committee, and other relevant personnel.
In his address at the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Bugti stated that this project would bring revolutionary changes to the agriculture sector in Balochistan, with a significant expected increase in crop yields. He emphasized that the project aims to provide a permanent solution to farmers’ electricity issues.
Mechanism for Transparency
The Chief Minister clarified that a mechanism is being developed to ensure transparency in the process, whereby funds will be transferred directly to the bank accounts of agricultural landowners, eliminating the role of middlemen. He stressed the importance of this direct financial support reaching the farmers.
Bugti also addressed the reasons for the initial delays in the project, explaining that the provincial government wanted to ensure that the funds were transferred in a transparent manner. He expressed gratitude to President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for their crucial roles in the practical implementation of the project.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister mentioned that measures would be taken to address the shortage of teachers and reopen closed schools in Pishin District, with teacher recruitment based on merit and transparency. During the event, a contingent of police presented a salute to the Chief Minister, who was also honored with a traditional Pashtun turban.
Members of the Provincial Assembly and officials from the Farmers Action Committee also shared their thoughts at the inaugural program, praising the Chief Minister’s vision. They stated that this project reflects the capability and commitment of Chief Minister Bugti, marking an important advancement for the farmers of Balochistan. Afterwards, the Chief Minister mingled with the public and sought to learn their opinions.
