Supreme Court orders NAB to produce Imran khan, terms arrest contempt of court

Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial of the Supreme Court of Pakistan ordered NAB to produce Chairman PTI Imran till 4.30 Pm in the Supreme Court.

A three member bench led by Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Umar Atta Bandial has taken up an application by PTI against the illegal arrest of Imran khan from the premises of the Islamabad High Court.

Justice Attar Minallah said that the arrest is a clear case of contempt of case.

“The way Imran khan was arrested is unacceptable, the arrest has to be reversed to maintain the sanctity of rule of law’’ said Justice Attar Minallah.

Chief Justice ordered IG Islamabad to produce Imran khan before the Supreme Court in an hour.

PTI leaders and workers will not be allowed in the premises of the Supreme Court.

Justice Umar Atta Bandial in very important remarks said that an order will be passed today in the case.

There are precedents in the history of legal jurisprudence of Pakistan where in the past the Supreme Court has intervened and termed arrests illegal.

Police are on their way towards Supreme Court with Imran khan in their Custody.
