ISLAMABAD – September 13, 2025:
A recent video circulated on social media, allegedly showing Chinese citizens clashing with police near the Pak-China border, is being deliberately misrepresented by Indian Proxy account Mir Yar Baloch, in an attempt to malign the enduring and strategic partnership between Pakistan and China.
The video, originally depicting a localized administrative issue, has been falsely framed by Baloch and hostile foreign accounts to suggest a breakdown in bilateral relations, including over projects related to the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Analysts confirm this narrative is part of a broader, foreign-sponsored disinformation campaign, primarily driven by networks linked to India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).
Mir Yar Baloch, a known disseminator of anti-state rhetoric, has a well-documented history of promoting divisive and misleading content. His recent posts seek to falsely portray Pakistan–China relations as “crumbling,” a narrative that lacks both context and credibility. Experts note that this is not the first time such actors have attempted to weaponize isolated events for propaganda purposes.
A senior security official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said:
“The incident was administrative in nature and quickly resolved through local authorities. It in no way reflects the broader strategic understanding between Islamabad and Beijing.”
❝Strategic Partnership Remains Unshaken❞
In contrast to the misinformation, Pakistan and China continue to enjoy deep-rooted and expanding strategic cooperation. The decades-long relationship, often referred to as an “all-weather friendship”, remains immune to such malign narratives.

Both governments continue to collaborate on multiple fronts:
- CPEC, the flagship project of China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), is progressing across key sectors including energy, infrastructure, digital connectivity, and socioeconomic development.
- Security cooperation between the two countries has intensified, ensuring protection for Chinese nationals and assets in Pakistan.
- Recent high-level exchanges reaffirmed mutual commitments to regional peace, economic development, and counter-terrorism coordination.
❝CPEC Progressing Despite Propaganda❞
Efforts to misrepresent isolated incidents cannot overshadow the tangible progress of CPEC, especially in underdeveloped regions like Balochistan, where road networks, power projects, and vocational training centers are creating jobs and improving livelihoods.
According to government sources, Phase II of CPEC has seen renewed momentum with projects in Gwadar, ML-1 railway upgrade, and the construction of Special Economic Zones (SEZs).
❝Targeted Disinformation Campaign Uncovered❞
Cyber analysts have flagged a coordinated effort involving fake news amplification by social media accounts with links to RAW-sponsored digital warfare cells. These handles systematically target key pillars of Pakistan’s foreign relations, especially those that threaten adversarial interests.
“This is not’new, we have seen EU disinformation lab scandal— it’s hybrid warfare, and it’s being countered through state-level responses and digital forensics,” noted a cybersecurity expert.
Pakistan and China remain firmly aligned in their long-term vision of shared prosperity, regional integration, and peace. Attempts to drive a wedge through doctored narratives or politically motivated propaganda have repeatedly failed to alter the trajectory of this time-tested alliance.
As both nations continue to deepen cooperation under CPEC and broader diplomatic frameworks, no orchestrated misinformation campaign can shake the foundations of Pakistan–China friendship — a relationship built on mutual respect, shared interests, and trust across generations.
